Our Favourite April Fool’s Day Pranks of 2025

9 April 2025

We love a good creative campaign – especially when it leans into the weird and wonderful. April Fool’s Day is a golden opportunity for brands to have a little fun, flex their imagination, and show off their personality. From faux product launches to eyebrow-raising collabs, 2025 did not disappoint. Here’s a round-up of some of our favourite April Fool’s pranks this year – the good, the gross and the gooey.

Olipop x Hidden Valley Ranch – The Collab Nobody Asked For

Prebiotic soda meets… salad dressing? Olipop announced they were teaming up with Hidden Valley Ranch to launch a Ranch Lover’s Four Pack – featuring carbonated cans of Classic Ranch, Hot Honey Ranch, Jalapeño Ranch, and Garlic Ranch. Yes, really.

Thankfully (and tastefully), they followed up with a second post to say just kidding – and to soften the blow, they even launched a giveaway of custom collab merch. Points for commitment, and for sparing us the garlic soda.

IKEA’s Meatball Lip Balm

Introducing: “The taste of meatballs now in your pocket.” We’re not sure who was asking for meat-flavoured moisturiser, but IKEA leaned into their iconic food offering with a lip balm that brought their Swedish meatball scent straight to your face. Sadly (or mercifully), it was all just a clever gag. Although we wouldn’t put it past IKEA to actually stock this one in-store…

Babybel’s Toastie-Ready Festival Sleeping Bag

Babybel took their signature red wax and turned it into a limited-edition wax sleeping bag. Complete with a peelable entrance and snug insulation, it promised to keep festival-goers warm “come rain or sun – you’ll be as warm as a cheese toastie!” Cosy and nostalgic? We’re obsessed. Somebody please make this one real.

Dyson’s Airbrow

The engineers at Dyson unveiled their next big beauty breakthrough: the Dyson Airbrow. A miniature version of the Airwrap, “designed to shape, sculpt and set your eyebrows with precision airflow”. The sleek product video had everyone questioning reality for a moment. Is it ridiculous? Absolutely. But also… kinda genius?

Currys X Wingstop

Currys and Wingstop announced the world’s first fully automated chicken wing de-boning machine. Developed by Philips, this mythical device promised to cleanly strip every bit of meat off a wing in seconds. It was pitched as a kitchen game-changer for foodies and restaurants alike. Sadly, this one was all bones and no substance – but it sparked some strong cravings.

Cadbury’s Goo on the Go

Cadbury took their iconic Creme Egg filling and reimagined it as a condiment – meet the “On the Goo” sachet. Designed for drizzle, squidge or squirt, the idea was to let fans enjoy that sweet, sticky fondant on anything their hearts (and sweet tooths) desired. Cadbury claimed the condiment game had been changed forever, and while it was all just an April Fool’s prank, we’re not entirely against the idea. Dessert nachos with a goo drizzle? Could be a shout.

From questionable flavour fusions to festival-ready cheese gear, this year’s April Fool’s Day pranks gave us everything we want as designers and creatives – bold visuals, unexpected pairings, and above all, a sense of humour. It’s always a joy to see brands take risks and have fun with their audience.

Got any favourite pranks we missed? Let us know – we’re always up for a laugh (or a limited-edition meatball lip balm).
