Today’s post is a special one. We’re pulling back the curtain and inviting you to meet the talented folks who make reflexblue tick. From sketching out initial ideas to perfecting the final touches, our team is the heart and soul of everything we do. So, grab yourself a cuppa, get comfy, and let’s dive in!
First up we have our Managing Director, Colin!
Name – Colin Docherty
Job Title – Managing Director
Qualifications – O level in Home Economics, Braidfield Secondary School
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “I have worked in the creative industry since 1979 and therefore witnessed many changes over the years, none more so than the onset of the digital social media revolution. Thankfully reflexblue has a brilliant young team that helps keep a Luddite like me on the straight and narrow. It seems you can teach an old dog new tricks (at least so they tell me). Thanks to them I learn something new every day and it makes me want to keep coming back for more.”
Fun fact about you – Colin’s dad worked abroad for long periods during his early childhood and once sent him a birthday card entitled, “to my favourite daughter”
How you take your coffee/tea – “For now, coffee and pep tea is consumed straight, no mixers”
Next up is Ricki, our Head of Digital!
Name – Ricki Neill
Job Title – Digital Director
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “Every day is different at reflexblue”
Fun fact about you – Ricki won the title of “Best Take That Dancer” at Papa Doc’s when he was 21! Plus, his band rocked the Edinburgh Fringe when he was just 15.
How you take your coffee/tea – “Coffee with milk and one sugar”
Scott, our Creative Director is next..
Name – Scott Miller
Job Title – Creative Director
Qualifications – High school qualifications and hands-on experience. Left college for a full-time role in a fantastic agency to learn on the job.
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “My lovely colleagues and clients haha! It’s always been a very relaxed atmosphere in our studio which is good and makes it easy coming into work, but when the pressure is on we can get our big serious heads on.”
Fun fact about you – Scott starred in a Channel 4 documentary about under-18s clubbing back in 1999. He’s also passed his driving test twice, but let’s not ask why!
How you take your coffee/tea – “Never been a coffee guy so I’d go for peppermint tea. If I’m ever feeling slightly rough then it’s milk and two for a wee comfort blanket”
Next up is Gill, our Account Administrator!
Name – Gill Gardner
Job Title – Accounts Administrator
Qualifications – AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping, Branch Treasurer for the Glasgow Parachute Regimental Association
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “Seeing if there are any dogs in the office. And being part of a team of great people to work with!”
Fun fact about you – Gill is gearing up to take part in the 2025 London Marathon!
How you take your coffee/tea – “Green Tea all the way!”
Here is Rachel, an Account Manager here at reflexblue!
Name – Rachel Todd
Job Title – Account Manager
Qualifications – 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree in Marketing from Strathclyde Business School
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “Apart from working alongside my lovely colleagues and fantastic clients, I do love the days when we all go for a team walk along the canal and have a catch up. Also, our Christmas away day/night out is always great fun”
Fun fact about you – Rachel went on holiday to Florida over Christmas a few years ago and while she was there, she went to Miami to see Pitbull!
How you take your coffee/tea – “I’m all about the decaf coffee these days, and no milk or sugar for me in my coffee. Unless it’s an iced oat milk latte from Starbucks”
That’s all of our management team introduced. Now it’s onto the rest of the team!
Here’s Molly, a graphic designer here at reflexblue!
Name – Molly McGugan
Job Title – Graphic Designer
Qualifications – BA in Graphic Design from UWS
Favourite part of working at reflexblue – “The fear of opening up your photoshopped birthday card”
Fun fact about you – Molly is learning Spanish (she’s currently on a 242 day streak on Duolingo!)
How you take your coffee/tea – “Green tea with honey if I’m feeling healthy or my fave from starbs – an iced brown sugar oat shaken espresso”
Next is Megan, another graphic designer!
Name – Megan Donnelly
Job Title – Graphic Designer
Qualifications – BA (Hons) Graphic Design, Duncan of Jordanstone
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “The relaxed uniform – always wearing a comfy fit in the studio”
Fun fact about you – Megan was once blessed by a shaman in Peru, up a snowy mountain in the middle of a lake!
How you take your coffee/tea – “Milk (gotta be green) and two sweeteners”
Now onto Iona, a Digital Account Executive at reflexblue.
Name – Iona Stewart
Job Title – Digital Account Executive
Qualifications – MSc (with Distinction) Marketing and Brand Management
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “The relaxed atmosphere and my colleagues. I’ve only been at reflexblue since the start of 2024 and the guys have made me feel right at home”
Fun fact about you – Iona once bumped into Sam Smith on a CalMac ferry while heading home from the Outer Hebrides! They chatted for 20 minutes about their trip through the Hebrides for potential album covers and even snapped a selfie!
How you take your coffee/tea – “If it’s coffee in the office then it’s Oat milk and two but if it is from a coffee shop then call me basic because it’s an Oat Caramel Latte!”
We also have a couple of free lancers helping us out…
First up is Ben!
Name – Ben Adie
Job Title – Freelance Marketing Executive
Qualifications – MSc in Marketing
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “Seeing my pals everyday”
Fun fact about you – Ben was once mugged at 4am in Cambodia by his own TukTuk driver, who was 5’2″!
How you take your coffee/tea – “Black coffee always, except at the weekends where I’ll treat myself to a latte”
And last but not least, is Scott, a free lance graphic designer!
Name – Scott Paterson
Job Title – Freelance Graphic Designer
Qualifications – BA (Hons) Graphic Design from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design
Favourite part about working at reflexblue – “The people”
Fun fact about you – I was voted funniest in the year in high school despite no one in my friend group voting for me.
How you take your coffee/tea – “In the office – Black with Oat Milk. In a coffee shop – Oat Milk Cappacho cho”
